Hurricane Force Facebook BadgeWhat is Hurricane Force?
Hurricane Force is the official student group of Miami athletics. Hurricane Force’s mission is to increase awareness and spirit surrounding all athletic contests at the University of Miami. Hurricane Force supports all UM teams, and students are rewarded for their dedication by receiving points and various levels of prizes when they attend home athletic events.

What is the cost to join Hurricane Force?
Hurricane Force is open for registered UM students only and FREE to join. UM students must have a valid Cane ID/C-Number to acquire points.

How do I join Hurricane Force?
UM students can join Hurricane Force by attending the predetermined events and scanning in at the student entrance or signing in at the Hurricane Force check-in table for events that don’t require students to scan in.  After scanning/signing in with a valid ‘Cane ID/C-Number for the first time, students will start accumulating points and become a member of the group.  Members will receive a confirmation e-mail upon joining Hurricane Force. 
*Note: You will not receive points for any event you attended prior to joining.

How do I accumulate points at events?
UM students can visit the Hurricane Force check-in table and accumulate points by signing in their name and C-Number.  Check-in times will be announced during the predetermined events and Hurricane Force members need to be in attendance prior to the end of check-in time of each sporting event to receive points. 
*Note - UM students will not need to sign in for football or basketball games because they have to swipe their Cane ID to get into the event.  Each student is entitled to scan only his/her Cane ID and sign only his/her C-Number.

UM students receive the points allocated for each sport by attending predetermined events.

Where are the check-in locations?

SPORTINSTRUCTIONS
BaseballUM students have to sign in at a table set up right after entering Alex Rodriguez Park.
Men's BasketballUM students will be scanned in when entering through the student section of the BankUnited Center.
Women’s BasketballUM students will be scanned in when entering through the student section of the BankUnited Center.
Football UM students will be scanned in when entering through the student section of Sun Life Stadium.
Volleyball UM students have to sign in at a table set up right after entering the Knight Sports Complex.
Olympic SportsUM students have to sign in at a table set up right inside the entrance to the sporting event.

  • Reach Hurricane Force ELITE.

  • Raffle for a Signed Poster from football and basketball teams
  • Exclusive Invitation to a Spring Football practice (practice based on Athletic Department availability)
Category 5: (250 points)
  • Customized University of Miami Jersey!

  • The top point getter will receive signed memorabilia from each of the Miami Hurricanes teams as well as a letter from the coaches.

Category 5 reserves the right to adjust prizes and incentives accordingly depending upon rate of attendance.  All prizes based on availability and access to prize.  No purchase is necessary for participation in the incentive program and recipients of prizes are responsible for any taxes associated with prizes.

Prize Distribution
Students must show their Cane ID when picking up rewards. Category 5 reserves the right to rescind any applicable prizes in the event they are presented a Cane ID card that is deemed fraudulent. Prizes are subject to availability.
